I had a squirrel get in the house (I found it when I got home). It got cornered in a closet, then tried to hide in a pair of coveralls. I was able to corner it in the coveralls (they were thick, so I couldn't get bit), threw the coveralls (with squirrel inside) in a large Rubbermaid tub, then took him out to some trees about 7-8 miles away. Do squirrels come back that far? I really hated to kill it.

THAT squirrel may not come back...worry about the ones he hangs out with. When squirrels finds a nice place to hang out they will come back over and over. Pest control people sometimes have to use serious wire mesh to cover up areas they come through in homes (especially attic areas) because they will chew thru wood.
If I where you I would get the chimney fire capped as soon as possible. 1. Its the law where I live due to sparks, it may be the law where you live too. Also if your insurance agent sees that it is uncapped your insurance could climb. 2. To keep out visitors like bats, birds and squirrels.

How can I get rid of the squirrels that are destroyng my house?
They squatted in my loft, and made a nest in there - they have now left but are in my garden, knawing away at a cob nut tree and just dropping the remains all over the garden. I just want rid of the pests, I used to think them cute, but my, I have changed my opinion now, they are making my life hell. Where can I get hold of squirrel poison ?How can I get rid of the squirrels that are destroyng my house?
If they are grey, they are classed as vermin and pest control will sort them out, if they are red, your nearest wildlife group will trap and release to a safe place.How can I get rid of the squirrels that are destroyng my house?

maybe even squirrel casserole.

Well... I feed the birds... but the miserable little rodents seem to think I've been feeding them... I've put up signs... to no avail.

No. we try to discourage squirrels from coming to close to the house, and the owl has pretty much cleaned out the population of them.

How do you rid house of fleas? No pets involved. Squirrel nest removed from fireplace chimney. spray & vacuum.?

Ok, vacuuming every day is going to help. Also place flea collars (cut into 4 pieces for each collar) under your couch cushions and furniture. This will help if there is a second hatching. But really a flea bomb is going to be the best thing. One for every floor, make sure the gas is shut off so you don't blow the house up. The brands you want to use are either Adams or Zodiac. Help! I have an injured squirrel in my house!?
This morning my cat was outside playing and he caught a squirrel. I got the squirrel from him, but it looks severely injured. There is no bleeding but I think it may have broke it's arm. It also seem traumatized. He is sleeping in a cage now, but I don't want to just let it die. What do I do? My mom doesn't want me to take it to a vet because she said we will get stuck with the bill.Help! I have an injured squirrel in my house!?
please find a wildlife rehabber in your area to care for the injured squirrel. websites below. vets do not charge for wildlife and some know who the licensed rehabbers are in your immediate area. if you do nothing, the squirrel will die. please give your vet a call if you cannot find a rehabber.Help!
