Pressure treated wood is specifically infused with chemicals/additives to kill/ward off bugs and critters from eating it. Squirrels will gnaw and chew on trees and the wood if they're around it so they'd end up ingesting this from the pressure treated wood. Cedar is naturally resistant to bugs and diseases (which is why a lot of out door projects are made with it) so it would be a better product to use for this specific project. Or you use oak or any other type of wood and treat it with a water seal or polyurethane to help it last longer.I was going to make some squirrel houses out of Pressure Treated Wood. Will this hurt the squirrel?
I wouldn't use it. The treated wood is toxic. You're not supposed to burn it, and you're supposed to be careful when working with it that you remove any slivers, even.

If you want something that will last longer than ordinary pine, I'd suggest you either use cedar or else Trex or some other plastic/sawdust combination, like the stuff that you can use for decks. I haven't used it, but I'm told it cuts and works much like ordinary wood.
Why anyone would want to encourage squirrels is beyond me (they are a nuisance where we live, constantly digging up the turf). That said, PT wood is probably not the best thing for them and they might even avoid it. Cedar is the best. Nowadays the PT wood isn't as toxic as it was a few years ago when it contained chrome and arsenic, but it's still meant to kill or repel living things.
probably not
