Would squirrel finds its way back to my house?

Squirrels have been a nuisance in my backyeard. They grabbed the fruits from the trees, or nuts from somewhere, and chewed them to pieces, then ';stored'; them to different places in my yard, some on top of the fence, to claimed their territorries

I decided to something about it. The other day I trapped one in a squirrel cage, and I drove 2.5 miles away to a park, and released it there.

Today I caught another one in the trap. You know, they all look alike to me, I was just wondering if it is the same one that I trapped the other day that just ran back.

Anyone knows if squirrels have the capacity to come back to the houses they claimed territory before? Given the fact that I drove accross many streets, even a highway to a different neighborhood.

Would it be stupid enough to be trapped a second time?Would squirrel finds its way back to my house?
Although squirrels are cute and cuddly they are pretty stupid to tell you the truth...a squirrel would get killed before it made it back to your house and they scent of the territory would not be strong enough t o reach 2.5 milesWould squirrel finds its way back to my house?
I don't know if squirrels can find their way back from such a distance, but they're NOT stupid. They've been proven, via experiments, to have good memories %26amp; good problem solving skills. They also learn to recognize people by sight and voice -- I proved that myself! :)

I also had problems with squirrels and when I asked the experts, they told me to release them no closer than 5 miles from my house. The further the better.
