Actually, a *combination* found to be more effective than any OTC germicides is, 5% vinigar followed by OTC hydrogen peroxide (or vice versa?) . . .
For possible mites, fleas, %26amp; tics . . . you might want to dust the area lightly with *food grade* Diatomaceous earth. It is non-toxic (the ground up mineral skeletons of a fresh water algae), %26amp; kills them by scratching their outer coverings when they touch it, then drying them up or allowing them to dehydrate %26amp; die.
Users of 'FGDE' have cautioned not to be liberal in spreding it on carpet, though, as it can bind up a vacuum cleaner. But, it can be 'poofed' along the bottoms of walls, %26amp; in other cracks %26amp; crevices, %26amp; continue to be a defense against crawling bugs, as its effectiveness does not diminish with age. (If it somehow gets removed, of course, it will no longer be effective for that area.)

I've read several experiences, one person had dusted a lice-infested nest in their hen-house, %26amp; the lice disappeared / I'm seeing a LOT fewer ticks in our yard even though I've only dusted specific areas of it.

TY!
I'd be interested in the details of your experience using 'FGDE' on ants!

If you see any place he peed or pooped, wipe it down with the Lysol, and do your kitchen counters too since he was probably looking for food. Otherwise, I wouldn't worry about it. There's not a lot you can catch from a squirrel.
