Squirrel in the house?

I have a squirrel in the soffit in my house (I think it lives in the area between the two walls). I have tried to put a trap (after doing a lot of research on the web about how to catch them) in the area outside but it won't go inside since it seems to know what it is. I am planning to now hire one of those companies that come and trap them and seal the hole. Has anyone used these guys and roughly how much do they cost?Squirrel in the house?
I'm in the DC Metro area and I paid $300 to a pest company. I had squirrels in my attic that got in through the firewall between my unit and the one next door (I had heard them in the wall as well). This covered 1 visit in which they put traps down, sealed up openings that they saw, and spread critter ritter. However, there was a 3 month warrenty. So since i continued to have problems, the guys kept coming back until we resolved the situation.

Just a word of caution: check to see if flying squirrels are in your area. That's what i had and the only way to get rid of them is to put kill traps down. The ';Hart-to-Hart'; traps don't work b/c the squirrels are so light and only need 3/4 of an inch to squeeze through, and the kill - bait didn't work either.Squirrel in the house?
I have had the same problem. I used decon rat poison, The kind that is like formed corn. Once the animal eats it they need water so it will go outside to find water. It will die outside.
Put motballs or even better camphor flkes where they get in they hate the smell.Once they are out seal hole
