The thing with squirrels is that they are very nervous and the suspense of the game might be too much for them.Is it alright if i invite all the neighborhod squirrels to my house to watch the superbowl?

Hav-a-hart traps and use peanut butter as the bait. also, find the hole in your eaves.
One day, they're invading your house, the next day.... they take over the world.......
The best item that works is Mothball shredded ,if you use the Ball type they will disgard it the flakes they can't smell alone drive them out,if you can go to attic and pour flakes in your eaves,or find the hole and put them in the hole, its safe and will do the job and most of all it cost less than hireing some company to do it?
Just be thankful it's not gopher's, especially irritated ones.
Try moth balls to get them out. Make sure you find their entrance and block it.
MOTH BALLS. I saw this on a show about pest control and it worked! They don't eat them, they just hate the smell. Good luck!
You must get them out at all cost. They will not leave after they have found a dry and warm place to live. Call someone!
They all have to be gone or they will find a way back in.
They are destructive to your house. Get them out now!
Have you checked the damage??

Call the exterminator or I get a can of hair spray %26amp; a butane lighter %26amp; start schorging the little buggers off of my property.
Let her in and her in and her in and etc. Have a good day.
Surrender!
I would ask which one of you is Scooter and then invite you and your fellow agents for breakfast.
Grab the .12 gauge and die like a man, taking out as many of the furry little rodents as I could.
I would surrender all the nuts that i have in the house to them
I keep the hose handy for just such emergencies.
Get my camera! That's the cutest thing ever! (:
First have a supply of Nutty Buddy candy on hand, then invite em in for some
I would go back to sleep, knowing that I was safe and being taken care of!
i'd wonder why my boyfriend slipped me acid while i was sleeping
I'd call Godzilla.

How do i keep squirrels from moving into my bird house, should i try wire mesh...?
but if i do can birds still move inHow do i keep squirrels from moving into my bird house, should i try wire mesh...?
the easiest way to fix this problem is to use birdhouses with smaller entrance holes. if they're too wide the squirrels will be able to make theirselves comfortable. smaller entrances will prevent them from getting in. also don't include perches because that is a good grip hold for squirrels and other predators that may want to enter. How do i keep squirrels from moving into my bird house, should i try wire mesh...?
Its a problem most people have with squirrels. They like to eat bird eggs from time to time. You can't use wire mesh cause the birds definately will not be able to use the box. You just have to keep shoeing them off. Don't put little perches on the outside of the box for the birds to stand on, it only makes it easier for the squirrels. Normally squirrels don't move in to the nest box...they like to be high up in the trees, they just like to get into the nest for the eggs.
Build them both houses.
Nice ones with cable and wifi.

Have you ever had a problems with squirrels being in your house?
I hate to even bring it up because it's ';that'; time of year again...%26amp; we haven't had any problems since we had siding put on a year ago (touch wood). Before that it happened All the Time - they used to come in the attic %26amp; gravitate to other areas of the house: basement, cubby-hole..I even had to chase one from under my dining room table! Last year, when I went into the attic to make repairs Yet Again...there were already baby squirrels in a nest so I had to take them outside %26amp; thankfully the Mommy squirrel came %26amp; got them...Why do they give you SO many characters to work with %26amp; why am I going On %26amp; On about squirrels...!? I think I need to go have some more coffee....Have you ever had a problems with squirrels being in your house?
Yes, have some more coffee. Thanks for the touch also.
I have come to hate the little buggers. They constantly are screwing around in my garage tearing crap up. I wish I was mean enough to go a hunting them, but I feel they would revolt and overwhelm me.
Im scared.Have you ever had a problems with squirrels being in your house?
awhh suriil are so dam cute like u
You can make wire ';gates'; one you find the point of entry, make a wire basket to cover it, like the cone in a lobster trap, they can go out, but not back in. Squirrels are pretty crafty though, you might have more than one point of entry.
Good luck.
Yes I have. One winter I heard my cat carying on in the livingroom around 1:00 in the morning.I went out to see what was wrong and out of the back of my woodstove pops a flying squirrel.I ran and got heavy work gloves and chased the thing all over the house trying to catch the thing.By then everyone was awake. Finally I caught it.I thought it was so cute until I got it outside. The thing freeked out and jumped and clung to me .I screamed and it took off.See if I save another one from the cat.
No. Not with squirrels in the house but yes on the street. This happened with a man in 'Chipndale' some time back.........
There was a man trying to cross the street. As he stepped off the curb a car came screaming around the corner and headed straight for him. The man walked faster, trying to hurry across the street, but the car changed lanes and was still coming at him. So the guy turned around to go back, but the car changed lanes again and was still coming at him. By now, the car was so close and the man got so scared that he just froze and stopped in the middle of the road. The car got real close, then swerved at the last possible moment and stopped next to the man. The driver rolled down the window. It was a squirrel. It said, ';Not as easy as it looks is it.';
Yes. Squirrels in our attic. My husband put wire screen across the vents they used to get in . It's kept them out so far. I used to listen to them scurrying back %26amp; forth up there, get a broom %26amp; hit the ceiling with it. Didn't do any good.
I had problems with squirrels in my attic. They chewed through wood vents as if they were flavored. I even tried a device that emits a sound to deter them - which they eventually chewed through the electric cord and disabled !
So far, so good this season.

Problems with flying squirrels in your house....?
a co-worker has a problem with flying squirrels in her house (in the attic)...she got a quote from a guy that says it starts at $700 just to get rid of them and for a 5 year warranty...so it could cost more than that...she's worried that its a scam cause it sounds like way too much to get rid of them but they are starting to cause lots of damage....anyone out there who has had a similar problem and how much did it cost you to get rid of them?Problems with flying squirrels in your house....?
She could catch them herself. Go to your local farm or sporting goods store %26amp; get a box trap. Put it up in the attic with peanut butter on the triger. When she gets one she should keep it in a cage until she has them all %26amp; relocate them. Flying squirrels stay in families like people.

Squirrels By My House Have Mange! What should I do?
One or two squirrels around my house seem to have mange. The one seems to also be acting sluggish. What if it becomes a diseased squirrel epidemic?! Can my dogs catch it? Maybe it's something other than mange. Any thoughts?
here is a picture... http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b176/lizzilucia/msquirrel.jpgSquirrels By My House Have Mange! What should I do?
Wow, that is a poor quality photo...almost looks like a bad attempt at photoshop.
At any rate, if you believe that there may be diseased wildlife endangering human or pet life and wellbeing, contact your county or local animal control.
Do not attempt to capture the animal yourself. If it is sick, you do not want to be handling it, even inside a trap.Squirrels By My House Have Mange! What should I do?
omg buy one of those traps that wont kill it and take it to an animal shelter or somewhere where they will cure it they usually do it for free and then release them i feel so bad for it

Squirrel/rat scratching noise above 1st floor and below 2nd floor of house?
Hello,
we live in a house in north GA and have recently hired a pest control company to seal the gaps in the attic that were causing squirrels to get in the attic. Now, the rats and squirrels in the attic are gone, but I can still hear noise coming from above the 1st floor of the house.
The house is built on a slab and there is no crawl space. How do the rodents get in above the 1st floor. The exterminator company is not able to determine this.
Any help on this?
Thank you!Squirrel/rat scratching noise above 1st floor and below 2nd floor of house?
In any house there is always going to be areas that rodents can get to rather easily. Because there are areas where the pipes and electrical wires have to go, and from there they can get just about anywhere. what you need to do is get your exterminators to put a rodent deterrant so that the animals will leave and after they are gone use spray foam and close ANY small gap or hole arround the outside of your house.Squirrel/rat scratching noise above 1st floor and below 2nd floor of house?

How to get rid of squirrels. its coming into my house and building nests in our lofts.unbearable?
You need to get up in the attic and make enough noise to drive out the squirrels and install screening over the entrance points. You can also spray some repellents in the attic. Go to your local hardware store and ask for squirrel repellent. How to get rid of squirrels. its coming into my house and building nests in our lofts.unbearable?
AntifreezeHow to get rid of squirrels. its coming into my house and building nests in our lofts.unbearable?
moth balls. Put a few in cheesecloth or some other porous fabric and tie it up and place them around your yard or whereever they are nesting. (also works for skunks)
you can close his entrance with heavy screen or get a good squirrel dog.
You have to grab him by his nuts.
Killem and eatem. Squirrels are great with soy sauce and rice. Some vegetables go with squirrels and some don't. You need to be very careful about making sure they are cooked well done.
Make sure you close up all the holes that they are coming in and out of. If you put plenty of feed for them outside and some sort of nesting area ';squirrel house';. The other alternative would be squirrel and dumplings.

I have a question about my terrrier, he keeps killing squirrels in the yard and brings them up to the house.?
I am skinnning them and frezzing them, my question is how long will they keep in the freezer, I hate freezer burn???? thanks for all you suggestions!!I have a question about my terrrier, he keeps killing squirrels in the yard and brings them up to the house.?
I'm not sure why your keeping them but , whatever. Terriers are known for this my Silky and Westie kill everything they can catch , birds Bunnys even baby bunnys. it really upsets me , but I know they can't help it .I have a question about my terrrier, he keeps killing squirrels in the yard and brings them up to the house.?
Dang...good dog %26amp; QUICK to boot! Which breed? I do possum,'chuck,coon,etc. w/mine.
Frozen meat oughta be used in a couple of months at most. I hear squirrel stew %26amp; biscuits w/squirrel gravy is best. One squirrel per person?
MURRAY?!?!You have NORWICH too?? Way KEWL!
a month is usually the longest you should keep any thing frozen. People always say forever, but in experience a month is long enough
I believe that it is only safe to really freeze meat for 2 months. So two months. Maybe stew some of it up with rice once a week and use that for dog food. It works really well and dogs normally love the stuff.
Terriers are natural ';ratters';. They love to dig and will hunt and chase anything that moves.
I have a Yorkie and a Norwich terrier and both bring me ';presents.';
Oh how cute, you dog is bringing you presents. I unfortunately have eaten squirrel it's not good. Put them in a sealed plastic bag and throw them in the garbage.
lol are you serious, that's kinda like road kill huh.... um I have no idea how long they would be good for. Hope it was fresh when you froze it...lol
well, your terrior is bringing you gifts. He loves you so much. As for the freezer burn, it depends on the packaging you use as to how long it keeps.
Why would you want to cook a tree rat?? Hope you got plenty of ketchup!!! Kudos to the dog!!! Kill more tree rats!!
I believe that if you keep it in a good plastic bag it will be fine for a few months honestly because my dad would hunt squrriels and they are still fine! yum yum!! = P
I am a professional big game outfitter in canada and the best advice i can give you is wrap the meat up good and place in a plastic bag and they should stay in good shape for abought a year.adult acne

Do ground squirrels breed in-house???
No squirrels don't do well with breeding in captivity. They need a lot of space for their mating rituals.Do ground squirrels breed in-house???

Hi today we found 3 baby squirrels near my house, anybody tell me how to save it, need feeding instructions?
Contact your state's wildlife rescue organization. They will tell you exactly what to do and what to feed the squirrels. They usually have a 24 hour hotline so check your phone book.Hi today we found 3 baby squirrels near my house, anybody tell me how to save it, need feeding instructions?

Bring em back, the mother will take care of em. They start with milk, then small seeds. Try giving them bird feeder seeds.

ask a vet or call an animal shelter or call a pet store. maybe look on the internet too. good luck! baby squirrels are cute!
sorry i don't know. but u can ask uncle donald.
Try calling your local wildlife or nature center for information. The squirrels may not be in fact abandoned, the mother may just be away from the nest for a period of time. They will be able to help you discern if indeed they need to be rescued and can tell you how and what to feed them. Frequently KMR ( Kitten Milk Replacer is used..buy it at the grocery or pet store ) and need to be kept warm with a heating pad under PART of the box so they don't overheat. They sometimes need feedings every 2 hours. They need to be kept in a quiet, darkened, cozy box. CHECK WITH THE NATURE CENTER...or maybe your vet.

There was a man trying to cross the street. As he stepped off the curb a car came screaming around the corner and headed straight for him. The man walked faster, trying to hurry across the street, but the car changed lanes and was still coming at him. So the guy turned around to go back, but the car changed lanes again and was still coming at him. By now, the car was so close and the man got so scared that he just froze and stopped in the middle of the road. The car got real close, then swerved at the last possible moment and stopped next to the man. The driver rolled down the window. It was a squirrel. It said, ';Not as easy as it looks is it.';

Hot sprays will repel them but check to see if they will stain the porch first. Boil a few hot peppers in water. You can buy the peppers in a grocery store. Try jalapeno or habanaro peppers. Or stash some mothballs around the area. They can be a real nuisance!

So what do you do when a family of squirrels have burrowed under the siding of your house and are now ...?
... building a nest on your fascia board???
The constant running and scampering keeps us up all night! Who do I call?
Any ';Rid-a-Rodent'; volunteers out there? So what do you do when a family of squirrels have burrowed under the siding of your house and are now ...?
We had two ground squirrels that were getting into a cabinet mounted to the chimney on the second level. Used to leave cabinet door open and leave a little bowl of peanuts and some water and named them Pee Wee and Pepper. No harm ever done and
If it were me, I would live and let live, they are not hurting anything, and you could acclimate to the scampering.
If you want to just get them to go away, search your browser for Sonic squirrel Repel. You will have several to choose from.
It works on the principle of ultra high frequency sound that humans cannot hear. You can even find them at WalMart and other retail locations. Very inexpensive and they work.
Darryl S.So what do you do when a family of squirrels have burrowed under the siding of your house and are now ...?
Before you gopher help I would check to see if your house has been infiltrated. Have you checked to see if there is a mole working undercover? He may be trying to weasel information out of the other animals. On the other hand, I thought the pitter patter of little feet would appeal to your maternal instincts. Having squirrels under your house can drive you nuts, but don't shell out any money until you know what the problem is. I could cost a lot of cold hard cash to find out. It could be cash you don't have. Exterminators don't work for peanuts. Don't let yourself get so pistachioed off that you become a little cracked. Have you squirreled away enough money to pay for it?
Red Cayenne Hot powdered pepper is best. Few sprinkles in and around the effected area of infestation and they will be gone with a itty bittty , but kinda cute squirrel whimper.
No it does not hurt them, much, it might , let me snort some and see,,,,,,,,,,,
YES! it does hurt! They be gone fast! OWIIEEEEEEEEEEEEE
My boyfriend could run over to your house and shoot them for you if you want.
Its sadly a form of redneck entertainment.
Back up your car nearby, connect the vacuum cleaner hose to its exhaust, and pump them some fumes. A short spell will drive them out, then seal up the hole. You can club them as they leave if you like. Tennis racquets are fun. If you leave the hose in a long time, it will kill them, but they quit stinking after a few weeks.
Simple - just dig and burrow underneath where they sleep and lodge at.
(Don't forget the clanging pots and pans)
They just like you 'cause you are a nut.
Try Moth Balls, they won't like the smell and they will leave. Don't use live traps, you will catch the parents and the babies will suffer.
Cut a small hole and release several corn snakes in there. After the squirrels are gone then cut a bigger hole and put a badger in there. After the snakes are gone then cut a bigger hole and put a cougar in there. After the badger is gone then cut an even bigger hole and put an aligator in there. After that burn your house down to end the saga.
yeah it's cute for the first few days. . .
Try this: get a hot jalapeno pepper and smother it with peanut butter. Place it in there or nearby. Sit back and enjoy!
Try a live animal trap. Then call animal control. Actually you should be able to call the animal control center, and they will tell you where you can actually borrow one for a couple of weeks. As soon as one is caught, you call them and they will remove the animal for you.
We have to deal with the suckers at my office, they break into the building periodicaly and it somehow got added to my job description, as office secretary to catch the monsters, then call to have them removed.
After the animal is removed, make sure to block the hole up solidly, or they will break back in. And do it quickly before they have the babies in there and you won't be able to reach the babies to remove them as well. Don't want any dead animals stuck in the house.
Good luck.
Call the SPCA to rent traps to put up in the attic, board over the facia board, cut the tree limbs away from the house, and tape over the insulation on the aircondition tubing. Otherwise, name them Rocky, Mick, Adriene, and Rocky Jr, get a moose, and see if they will fly away with him. ';Now watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat.';

Squirrels in house soffits. Does soffits open to attic?
I heard noise in my soffits, and then I found a broken brick where the soffit attaches. Now, worry if a squirrel family live in my soffits or attic, and I may need to chase them out from the soffits, and from attic, before sealing the hole. Thanks.Squirrels in house soffits. Does soffits open to attic?
a soffit by definition is: he underside of a structural component, such as a beam, arch, staircase, or cornice.
Here is a website that might help on squirrels in the attic:
http://www.atticsquirrels.info/Squirrels in house soffits. Does soffits open to attic?
If you know where they are getting in, good. If you can get into the attic area put up some bright lights and obnoxious music on a radio channel. The idea is to surround them so that they will go back through the entrance hole and not move further into your home. They are coming in for qiuet and darkness. They are active in the daytime, but do make sure you remove any nests with babies and place the entire nest outside in an old plant hanger or other container with drainage so the parents will continue to tend to them. Hopefully they have not nested yet and it will be simple. Use hardware cloth or other touch wire to block them re-entering the home.

Does anyone have wild animals visiting their house? I have 3 grey squirrels who pinch the birds' peanuts.?
In the back garden we get grey squirrels who swing upside down on the washing-line and feed out of the peanuts that are hanging in a wire cage for the birds.
As it goes dark our hedgehogs come out and they head straight for the nuts that have fallen on the ground and also eat up all the cat-food that I put out (NON-FISHY!)
I also have moles on the front lawn!
But the less said about them, the better!Does anyone have wild animals visiting their house? I have 3 grey squirrels who pinch the birds' peanuts.?
Ahh that's nice - and a nice post...
I see badgers and fox's mainly - and i haven't got a garden - the badgers pick up peanuts under my window - and i sometimes leave food out for the fox's. I live in a small town and at the bottom of the road there's a park and it leads to a river where there's a lot of trees - so a lot of wildlife come up to where i live looking for food. I also feed the birds - so many different kinds - i buy a bag of wild bird seed most weeks - bags of peanuts. I used to see squirrels around here but not lately. It's amazing the number of birds that come to my window sill to pick up food. Just love watching them - and try to stop my cat's from jumping up and frightening them away. Good to know your feeding them too.
Added: some lovely stories...
hope ur feeding that giraffe foizdoig! lol
Thanks for the advice Vincent - if i ever find any hedgehogs - no milk - and only meat cat food - not fish....Does anyone have wild animals visiting their house? I have 3 grey squirrels who pinch the birds' peanuts.?
Thanks Vincent - yours is one of the loveliest questions I've found here. I but fat-balls too %26amp; in the winter there's a Robin comes on the window sill, i like to think it's the same one. It's amazing how much wild-life i see in town considering i have no garden. Thanks T xxx
I moved out to Canada a year ago and still I'm finding new animals and birds. If you do Yahoo 360, I have a blog about the black squirrels (they are sooooo funny!!! They chase each other along the fence and have play fights just like kittens). I've also got a groundhog that wanders in and wanders out without a care in the world (they are REALLY shy though. You've only got to blink and it scares them away). My favourite animals are the chipmunks. I don't know why, but I expected them to be enormous! But they're tiny - a bit bigger than a mouse and smaller than a rat. One of them was messing around at the back of our garage. It turned round and came right up to my feet (I was standing really still trying to get a photo of it). It saw my shoe, did a double take, looked up, saw me and jumped a mile in the air (I'm still laughing now!!). Poor little thing. I clicked JUST as it jumped and the photo's perfect! They're just so cute!
My neighbour says there's a skunk in the vicinity, but I haven't seen (or smelled) it yet!
I've also got Red Cardinals yelling at the top of their lungs - 'birdie, birdie, birdie'. They're gorgeous though. The robins here are about the size of a UK blackbird. They're whopping great things, not cute at all! AND (I'm REALLY bragging now) there's a pair of humming birds that visit next doors bird feeder. It's a special one for humming birds with a sweet nectar in it (I'm going to get one next year and see if I can get them to come to MY garden!!!).
Thanks for the question. I enjoyed answering it.Made me realise how lucky I am.
i have a couple of swifts nesting in the corner of my window where,s there a brick missing.
so cool to watch
once in a while we have a owl that preys in the area.
i have squirrels in my back garden and i have foxes that cut through my garden at night. i have only seen one hedgehog .i have lots of robins and at at dusk i see bats flying. i live in the city and it is great to see wildlife on my doorstep.
we must live in the same neighbourhood
I've also got a family of squirrels that eat everything in sight right NOW they are busy digging up bulbs that were planted and they are reburying them in the lawn we've had a few hedgehogs ,and also a grouse or a pheasant that was here earlier in the year we've got some good pictures of all the animals but no moles thank god ,saw a fox pass through a while back being chased from the air by the birds they were really hounding it think it was injured.Looking forward to seeing them all over the winter need to start stocking up on nuts i guess.
foxes, back and front garden, they even sit in the middle of the road in the morning hours and even drive up to them before they decide to move out the way....guess this is where they use to live before they built houses and roads hear.
My Neighbours Pigeons are Bent.
I'm not a big fan of tree rats myself, they steal my apples and dig up my plants. They can't get into my bird feeder so they find ways of knocking it to the ground and shaking the seed out. We had some baby hedgehogs last year, they are the cutest things.
Other ocassional visitors have been a small grass snake, a peacock, foxes, field mice, newts and frogs.
Deer (they usually show up around Thanksgiving), squirrels, opossums, raccoons, skunks, garter snakes, one California king snake, blue jays (they now eat out of my hand; one sits in the window box while I'm fixing breakfast and watches me until I go out and feed them), hummingbirds, herons (working hard to get the Koi out of my neighbor's fish pond), ravens (love anything shiny), wild turkeys, Canada geese, and ducks.
There were two badgers, but I had to have animal control trap and remove them because people were afraid of them. I didn't want someone to kill them.
Our previous home backed into a deep woods so we had everything visit in the wild animal department. I finally bought a very expensive bird feeder that squirrels and raccoons couldn't get into and that resolved that issue. We also had to replace our screened porch screens with animal proof ones so the raccoons wouldn't gnaw through and eat all my scented candles. You cannot leave any type of food outside. It just calls all the critters to your house. The raccoons even tried to run off with our grill utensils because they smelled of food. We had a small pond with goldfish, but the raccoons would just eat them so we stopped buying them. If you are in a wooded area, you have to make changes that don't allow the critters to invade your space. A lot of them carry rabies so it isn't safe for your family.
I have a skunk!!OMG!! It smells really bad!! I have to run around closing my windows every night as soon as I get a wiff of it I have to spring into action!! I have seen it and it's a big one!!
i;ve got a giraffe in my loft.

Has a squirrel ever gotten loose in your house?
i woke up with a squirrel on my chest one time i swung prob a 100 times and didnt hit it once it ran all over meHas a squirrel ever gotten loose in your house?
NopeHas a squirrel ever gotten loose in your house?
Yes, I thought it was my dog scratching a hole under a door... I even putthe poor old boys paw up to the door to measure! Turned out to be a d@mn squirrel in the basement. He chomped through some wood frames on prints... etc..it was sooo funny watching my husband exterminate him though... that made it all worth the nibble marks.
we had them in our cabin, they got in thru the wood stoves chimney (we had to remove part of the piping cause it was too close to the stairs and a fire hazard) and they ate sooooo much stuff....
... like my barbies boobs and faces
My dog would be beside herself with pleasure!
But the answer is no.
Happens to me all the time, but then I realize I am looking in a mirror.
Yes. It lives in our attic. Comes and goes thru an opening in the underhang. Sleeps right over our bed. Hear it moving around at night. When we go into any other room, it moves into the ceiling right above where we are talking.
no
but my friend has 2 pet squirrels
they r so cute!
One got loose in my trousers once. A most disturbing experience. I had to send my ferret Nigel in to get it out.
It was in a christmas tree that we chopped down. Then during dinner it started squeaking, which made the dog chase it around the house, trashing everything in the process.
Oh wait. NO, I saw that in Christmas Vacation.
no I haven't had the fun of having one in the house yet....
Star Girl- So you are inviting them in - not good
Grey squirrels are not as destructive than red squirrels are. they will destroy anything fabric in the attic. Worse yet, they have a habit of chewing the insulation off of wires, starting house fires. Get a live trap if you don't want to kill them or use good old fashion Rat traps. And yes, have had them get in before.
Thankfully no!!!
no
but that would be funny lol
Not mine, but one fell down the chimney at my mother's and was upstairs sitting on her in bed!!!! I would have lost my mind...!!!! She chased it around with a broom, then opened the front door and it ran out!!!!
I was loose in your bedroom last night......
Dont you remember?
No - but a bird flew in once. It freaked my dog out!!
he was after my nuts
yeah one bit through the screen in my window during the summer and my dad was frantically running after it with a golf club trying to scare it out the door. (dont worry he didnt hit it)
You should check out my attic. We leave the windows open all the time now up there.
no
sometimes my cats bring them in
I had huge squirrel problems in the house I grew up in(now gone). They got in the attic and wreaked havoc, clawing thru the ceiling and everything. If you have them get rid of them A.S.A.P.
no squirrels but I have had a bird come in through the furnace in our old house
the dog chased it
No but a chipmunk felt the need to walk right in my in-laws house. It was hilarious watching them run around trying to catch it in a blanket.. lol
No, but my dad just recently had a memory surface from his childhood. He said he caught and sqwerl and took it inside his grandma's house where it then bit him got away and peed on the floor. I asked him how he caught the sqwerl. He didn't remember. I asked him how he got the sqwerl out of the house. He didn't remember. I think he must have suffered a head wound from grandma. They were not nice people to begin with.

Do you '; squirrel '; away money in various places around the house?
I used to when I had some to '; squirrel '; away. But it seems the furry little sh....ts just aren't finding any acorns anymore to bury the way they did back then...Do you '; squirrel '; away money in various places around the house?
I do, I keep money in my ashtray in the jeep. I put money in my pockets of jackets or sweaters, it's so much fun when it gets cool and I can pull them out and find unexpected money. I hide it in my purse too, just in case my family is trying to take all of it. I especially like keeping extra money in the car, I never want to be somewhere and realize I don't have any. Everyone in the family knows to leave my money alone in the ashtray! lolDo you '; squirrel '; away money in various places around the house?
Yes, and when I remember where all those stash places are I will be rich!
absolutely.
but i'm not telling you where.
After my auntie died, money was found all over the place: drawers, kitcken cabinet items, in the ceiling light fixture...
i like that one nothing is impossible iF [I WILL NOT SAY ANOTHER WORD but there is possibility
Go treasure hunting no more Squirrel they are not as smart as the nut cracker machines you carry it there heavy and come out lighter then when you arrived
GOT TO GO SHOPPING I AM STARVED [COLLECT SOME NUTS]
CATCH YOU LATER
No, but I human away acorns all over the tree.
I often stuff my cheek pouches with nuts and berries for the long winter months to come.
I often get eaten by predators too but It's all part of the natural selection process occurring everyday on Marty Stouffers Wild America!
yep but all in one place
What? And no, I add all my money to my bank account so I can get interest.
i never did but i should probably start.
I still do that, I store money around the house to save money.
Manily just to save better, without anyone knowing I have the money.
:-)
No
Kind of ..... Whenever I get change I'll put it in whatever purse I'm carrying at the time, or maybe my pants or a jacket pocket, or also in my tote bag and sometimes my desk drawer at work.
Then when I need it I go hunting.
no, but when i was a pot head i did that with weed...nothing better than forgetting you had some and 'wow' finding a bag out of the blue!

Got to have the ';squirrel'; money first to put it away!!!
No because I have the habbit of putting stuff up so it won't get lost and then forgetting where I put it.
i do,i will,but don't tell

No. Not yet, but I would rather call Mike Rowe.
Good Luck, they are a pain in the butt to catch. Hope eveything works out. If you narrow it down you can set a trap for it instead of wasting money to have someone else do it.
hehehehehehe.....sounds like you have problems...
lmao
no but one time a field mouse came in the backdoor and that thing i married shot it with a 22
No. I would suggest opening the doors and making a lot of noise.... Enough noise to make it want to leave and never come back.
No. I think the only time I ever called animal control was when I saw a large dog playing chicken with cars on a busy highway. I didn't want the dog or anyone else to get hurt.
Thank goodness this has never happened to me. I would have probably killed myself in trying to run from the thing.

How do i keep squirrels from chewing on the porch and house?
how do i keep squirrels from chewing on the porch and house? is there anything they don't like the taste or smell of ?How do i keep squirrels from chewing on the porch and house?
many ways of doing this. Taser them if you get the chance. Set up into a trap where they will die a painful death. Make alot of noices from the house to try to scare them away. Fry them and have a squirrel sandwish. How do i keep squirrels from chewing on the porch and house?
Get an air rifle and start shooting them. Eventually they will go away and in the meantime you can make some squirrel stew.
Try going to home depot they have stuff to sprinkle around the yard for that.(but i never knew they eat ppls house)
what kind of decking and siding do you have? I have never heard of squirrels chewing on houses before.
Where I live we like to watch squirrels playing. we put nuts out to attract them to our gardens

Squirrels attempting to invade the house, solutions/deterrents please people!?
We have a juvenile grey squirrel problem.
An ASBO's not an option as they're too quick and can't read, but joking apart the little blighters are attempting to invade and this morning I've had to chase one (or possibly two-they all look the same to me) off the kitchen window sill as they were half way in through the open window.
There is nothing edible out on the worktops and I've fastened a plastic bag to the window latch in a vain attempt to scare them off but there HAS to be a better way, not least as the whole house will look flipping ridiculous in the summer!
Hubby is all for getting some target practice in but I'm resisting that on humanitarian grounds (at least for the moment).
My main concern here is that they're disease ridden critters and seem totally unconcerned by my presence initially. My 2yr old thinks they're cute of course and my 1yr old has no idea what they are but if one got in......
...well I hate to think what could happen.
Any suggestions? Cheers!Squirrels attempting to invade the house, solutions/deterrents please people!?
Let Hubby get the target practice, just make him clean them!!! They make a pretty good meal when you fry them up!!!Squirrels attempting to invade the house, solutions/deterrents please people!?
I don't have a solution, but squirrels are known to like mental puzzles: perhaps a trail of rubik's cubes will keep them occupied...?
I would suggest first off that you close the windows. If that isn't a viable option, get a wire (not plastic) screen for your windows. A house pet (ideally a cat, but a small dog like a terrier would be good too. And the kids would like it. ) would help to deter the tree rats from wanting in your house. Remember the old Chip and Dale cartoons? Use that as a guideline for deterrents.
why not this...?
http://www.gonegardening.com/xq/ASP/dept鈥?/a>
Uses ultrasonics.....
get an air rifle.
nahh, once he his hit he will only concentrate on escaping. a well placed shot will keep him on the ground.
i shot one on tuesday out of a tree next to our house but the little bugger ran off under out chicken shed. had to tip the whole shed over to get him out and finish him off.
cant stand squirrels. on monday morning, i counted 12 in the fields next to our house. gonna kill them all.
We have had this problem for two years. They were living in our chimney.... We tried a lot of things but I am afraid that your hubby's option was the only thing that eventually got rid of them.
Think of them as rats... and if you look at them closely most of them aren't the nice fluffy things you would expect but have mange etc.
Sorry if it isn't what you want to hear....

How to rid my house of squirrels?
pellet gun, but it's kinda sad. there's probably some poison out there you could feed them but it's poisonous to other creatures as well. I'd go with the pellet gun.How to rid my house of squirrels?
Years ago we had an attic full of them and they were cute..But my Italian grandmother suggested moth balls every where, once they left, we had to put up chicken wire over all vents etc. . It worked, we did end up having to redo the moth balls every couple of weeks. By the end of a couple of months, we were free of them. (Moth balls are still not a favorite scent)
Sometimes those ';old wives'; do know some interesting trivia. Good luck.

Is it legal to keep squirrels in captivity?,,in cages in the house?
I know someone that has an adult squirrel and has had it in his possesion for 4 years and now has just aquired another baby squirrel. Do you have to have a special game license to keep them in captivity? Is it legal to keep squirrels in captivity?,,in cages in the house?
Yes it's against the law. Squirrels if found hurt are suppose to be turned over to a wild life refuge /rehab center. But then I have Two squirrels that I have had for over a year, They were living in the attic of a house that was torn down and it was winter so I took them in.
The other problem for having squirrels that long is if you do let them go, They will not know how to look for food and could starve, This is from being fed by a person for so long(4 Years)
But then people keep exotic Birds, Snakes, Ferrets %26amp; other critters, So I guess if you found a squirrels and took care of it then what's the harm.Is it legal to keep squirrels in captivity?,,in cages in the house?
You should check with your state laws. Some states require that you have a Wildlife Rehab permit, and then you only keep the animals as long as they can't survive in the wild...you do release animals after they are well or grown up.
no. i no a person that has a pet squirrel, but it lives inside and outside, not in a cage.
Its actually illegal in the US... but for the 4 year old squirrel... Im sure by now it knows nothing but being indoors.. a little late for that fella. as for the baby... she should contact a rehabber to raise it.
if she has a rehab permit.. she can legally have them..but is required to release them also.
but you wouldnt believe the people finding squirrels and keeping them... sometimes its sad..sometimes the squirrels rule the roost and personally.. I think its fine.. if the squirrels happy.. I hate to see them caged.. and pacing.. if the squirrels happy.. so be it.
nope
i don't think it's illegal to keep squirrels but it's not good for them and now they realy can't be releast becuse they are now use to humans and wont be abel to find food on ther ownadult acne

If a squirrel got loose in your house....?
What steps would you take to remove it?If a squirrel got loose in your house....?
I'd request an exorcism.
Do you think people would by a house where there was a sqwerl incident or would it become a stigma property?
I guess that depends on the chalk line.If a squirrel got loose in your house....?
I'd open every possible door and window because when the dogs figured out it was inside, it'd be open season on Nutsy the Squirrel. He'd better hit the sill running.
If you can't chase it out then I would prop the door open and put some peanut butter on a cracker and leave it a few feet outside the door.
That should do it.
That actually happened once! I was like 4 maybe. It ran around the entry way and after like 10 minutes ran back out, haha, mom was freaking out
Boy that is scarey! First I would run out of the house and then call Animal Control or the police and wouldn't go in till it was caught!
i would call animal control =)

What is a good way to get and keep a squirrel out of your house?
A squirrel has made a home for itself in my house. He got in through a vent (which he broke to get in) and is actually between the outside roof and the inside ceiling. I hear him scurrying around up there. We tried putting a (no kill) trap, but he somehow avoided getting trapped and got the food anyway. We tried calling an exterminator (last resort, we really do not want to kill him if we can avoid it) but they said all they do is put a trap also. So is there anything that we can put in there (something with a smell that he won't like maybe?) that will make him leave and stay out?
(And please, no stupid ideas like 'get a gun and shoot it, that is just not possible and we are trying to to hurt it.)What is a good way to get and keep a squirrel out of your house?
I use some stuff from Lowes called Shotgun Repels All to keep critters out of my garden, if you can get into your attic and sprinkle some around it might work. I know it keeps them out of my garden along with rabbits, coons, skunks, possums, etc. As you can tell by the varmints, I live in rural America. What is a good way to get and keep a squirrel out of your house?
My first idea was to try to find the main ideal of entrance for the squirrel and try to seal it. But, any of your ideas should work as well.

How do I rid of the squirrels that are currently in the frames of my house?
There are squirrels within the frames of my house. They enter through the roof and are making a lot of noise through the walls. How do i get them out of there before I seal the entrance? How do I rid of the squirrels that are currently in the frames of my house?
You have to trap them and relocate them, Or kill them.
Just sealing up the hole may not take care of the situation. Once they become accustom to living in your house they will stop at nothing to get back in. I had squirrels chew through 3/8' plywood to get back in my attic. You have to get rid of the trouble makers. How do I rid of the squirrels that are currently in the frames of my house?
If you liive in the country, try and shoot them when there out side
if in town, traps, poison, exterminator, termonator etc. etc.
Get a wildlife remover. Those squirrels are doing a lot of damage.
Mothballs.
We had squirrels trying to get down our chimney. Idiot rodents! We used critter ridder from OSH. Worked pretty well. GL2U

Would you let a fawn & a squirrel live inside your house?
I know of a family who lives a half of a mile off a main Rd. They found a baby squirrel %26amp; then a few weeks later found a day old deer. They feed the fawn goats milk out of a bottle. The animals roam free inside the house. The squirrel now goes outside during the day but comes back in at night. The deer plays with the family dog. I have yet to understand what they do about potty detail. So if you had the chance would you want this opportunity? They raised another deer years ago %26amp; it lived around their house for 11 yrs. It brought it's own babies back to visit.Would you let a fawn %26amp; a squirrel live inside your house?
Yep! I wouldn't just let a poor baby fawn back into the wild without it's mommy to protect it. Same with the squirrel!
They sound like nice people to do that. : )Would you let a fawn %26amp; a squirrel live inside your house?
Well, I have had three squirrels live in my house before, and it's not that bad. :) We just kept them in a reallllllyyyy big cage and let them out if we were willing to keep an eye on them. We kept them because they were all babies who fell out of our front tree and got really hurt. Now they live in our front yard. I don't know about a fawn...
Well it depends how old it was if it is a full grown able to take care of itself (unless its hurt) no, but a small defenseless one without mother yes i would, i took in a four squirrels without they're eyes open yet now they're alive and well

There is a squirrel infestation in my house?
Yesterday when I was cleaning the attic I found a mother squirrel with 8 or 9 babies. They were pretty young. I tried to get the mother squirrel but she bit my hand so I shook her off and stamped on her. The babies are now starving and scared. One of them fell out the window, another killed his brother and one got caught in the heater and died. So now there is only 5 squirrels and ones really injured from the fight with his brother.
How should I kill the rest?
I was thinking I could cook them for my dog to eat. There is a squirrel infestation in my house?
Animal control might be able to loan you some cages.

exterminator, call around for the best rate.I have a skunk or squirrels living under my house roof. How to best remove them?
You will have to find where they are getting in first. I suggest that once you find the spot they are getting in at, watch for them to leave. Normally animals feed in the early morning and mid to late afternoon. Once you know they are out of the house you should close off these places with wire mesh ( staple over hole) or by nailing metal over it. Then I suggest if you still have a problem with the little varmits to buy a Live trap. Simply put a can of cheap cat food in the trap and set it in a secluded part if your yard. I have caught numerous squirrells.chipmonks, etc this way. But you better make sure it isn't a skunk first. If it is, I agree with everyone else to call a professional. If you try the live trap and catch something besides a skunk, simply throw a towel over the cage and transport the animal to a rural setting to let it loose.
It is probably squirrels. You need to close up all the holes where they can get in.
try this first take a cloth and soak deeply with ammonia and stick it the hole and they will not like the smell and move, if that doesn't work call exterminators
I called a guy who put in traps. And it turned out to be rats.

exterminator, call around for the best rate.I have a skunk or squirrels living under my house roof.
How do you keep squirrels from eating the wood to your house?
My parents home on the second floor is getting the wood torn apart from the squirrels trying to get in, what can they do to keep them away? How do you keep squirrels from eating the wood to your house?
kill them
trap and move them MANY miles from your houseHow do you keep squirrels from eating the wood to your house?
You can try spraying the area they're getting with a mixture of water and either Cayenne pepper or nicotine. I believe they don't like either of these and they will stop chewing on that area. Unfortunately, this has to be sprayed on every week or after a rain to remain effective, and could only drive them to another area of the house.
Spray the outside with some scary animal urine-small quantities will do,I believe you can get wolf or fox urine from pet stores and it'll scare them away with out hurting them.ktf.x
They're vicious where you're from...try feeding them. We had a problem with eating bird seed, so now there is stuff they prefer: dried corn, stuff like that.
Is it wrong to suggest a bb gun?

Does anyone know where to get a small 3/8 shaft diameter squirrel cage fan and housing?
Looking for a fan to mount on an old weed eater engine to power my drywasher.Does anyone know where to get a small 3/8 shaft diameter squirrel cage fan and housing?
Try an air conditioning company in your town who has old a/c air handlers that they are throwing out. Alot of apartments hane the air handler in the ceiling in a hallway with the perfect squirll cage you would need and they usually have maintenance men who work on them and they may have spare cages and motors and they sometimes are criminals so you might be able to trade with them some thing for it or you could go to a grainger store if you have one where ever you live or go to an a/c supply shop and say you work for an a/c company or other wise they wont sell to you and if they do they will charge you the most they can and probably extra on top of that good luck dudeDoes anyone know where to get a small 3/8 shaft diameter squirrel cage fan and housing?

There are squirrels freezing outsize my house, how can I help them?
Squirrels are hard to get to and they won't let themselves be helped, but I have to do something for them, they are really shaking in ice out there. There are squirrels freezing outsize my house, how can I help them?
Give them bird seed...they love it!There are squirrels freezing outsize my house, how can I help them?
If you're really dedicated to this, you could try setting up a dog house with hay inside, then throw a few ears of dried corn in to attract them. Perhaps they will discover it's warmer in there and 'tell their friends' lol.
leave them a hot cup of coffee.
Put nuts in their mouth.
Why on earth would you want to ';help'; them? Squirrels are nothing more than rats with good PR.
make a heap of old wood outside, it will provide shelter and when the wood rots it provides warmth- honestly, anyone who has ever stuck their hand in a compost heap with testify- hedgehogs like it too.
You can go to tractor supply co, and buy a heated water bowl and an extension cord and hook them up so they have warm water to drink. I have a heated water bowl for the birds and squirrels, and my chickens, and a heated water bucket for the dogs.
bring them into the house, they love to climb curtains!
Sorry,
All you can do is provide high energy food like peanuts, pine cones covered with chunky peanut butter (tie down a couple of them so they can't be carried off) and provide water.
Go to your local hardware store or birdseed center and get one of those birdbath gizmos that keeps the water warm or agitates it to keep it from freezing.
.
They know enough to get in out of the cold when it gets to be too much for them. If, by chance, they are looking for food because their supply has been disrupted, you can go to the store and buy a bag or two of English Walnuts and put them out for them to have something to eat. Otherwise, just leave them alone. To do otherwise would be interferring with nature.
I am sure it looks as if they are freezing, but they have instincts, and the only reason they are out is for food so the best you can do is to get some walnuts, or peanuts (all unsalted) or whatever kind of nut you can find (except the human kind lol!) and put them out where they can find them, I take care of anywhere from 4-6 squirrels and all's I do is be sure they have food , you can also get some corn for them they will eat that also, and I keep water available to them, in freezing weather that can be hard but I use and old cool-whip bowl and when it is frozen I carry a pitcher of hot water out and pour it over the bottom of bowl til ice falls out then I refill it with the rest of the hot water. They have trees where they make nests, not all the nest's in the trees are for birds, so after they eat they will go back to their nests and be warm.
Please tell me you are joking!!!
Wait....my fish had babies and then died鈥he orphan fish don鈥檛 know how to swim鈥ow do I teach them? I am currently making fish faces next to the tank so they think I鈥檓 the mother fish and don鈥檛 feel lonely. LOL
put some shredded wool outside and they will take it back to their habitat

Help me...my house is under attack....how to take care of squirrel problem?
A few months back I had squirrels eating up my fascia and gutters. I spent a large amount of money replacing my fascia and gutters and having my fascia covered with a metal covering to try to deter the squirrels from coming back. When the squirrels came back and again tried chewing through the fascia I had a pest control company come out and get rid of some of the squirrels for me which was not cheap either. This morning I woke up to the sound of scratching on my upstairs window and found that the squirrels have eaten through the top of the window and eaten half of the wood at the top. So now I am going to have to replace the entire window. I am at my wits end with these squirrels. Stopping short of shooting at the squirrels and learning how to make squirrel soup (*note sarcasm*), I dont know what else to do. Has anyone had issues with squirrels? How did you remedy the problem? I know squirrels are cute but when they cost you thousands of dollars they tend to lose the cuteness factor.Help me...my house is under attack....how to take care of squirrel problem?
See if you can find a store that sells ';Red Fox Urine'; Put some in your attic and some places outside. They will leave.Help me...my house is under attack....how to take care of squirrel problem?
If you don't have any pets around, you could try putting rat poison on your roof. It will kill squirrels too. Or bubble gum, or fluride toothpaste.
Yea my friend has the same problem..they just want someone to have there babies at and shelter in your backyard..i believe my friend told me she put salt all around her house.
so try salt..or look in the stores for stuff to get rid of them..AND IT HAS TO BE SALT WATER salt.
moth balls, I think ?
You should use a 22 with a scope, they are just rats with bushy tails, if you have tons of money keep letting them eat your house. Otherwise they have to go!
Pest control maybe! I know this is hard but do you wanna move to a tree???
My mom had a bad squirrel problem at her house...
She got rid of the tree they were climbing to get to her roof... and she has not had anymore problems with them.
Find out how they are getting to the problem-spot... and try to fix it where they cannot use that entrance...
Depending where you live you can do the following:
1. Fox urine. stinks but works to keep them away from stuff for a while...
2. shoot them with a .22.
3. Poison-may be illegal to use where you are but if no pets around put it in peanut butter they love it.
Unless you get rid of these tree rats or stuff they like to eat you will continue to have problems with them. Trap and release/animal control company are useless as others move in. #1 and #2 worked best as i had pets.

I could have a potential problem with a squirrel entering my house through a window screen?
I live in a 10 year old house. Only my bedroom and bathroom windows on the second floor are ever open during the day and night in the summer. This winter I have noticed a squirrel (don't know if it's the same one) sitting on those 2 window ledges. We do not have air conditioning and can't afford it. A squirrel got in my mother's house several years ago and made a real mess. I don't want that here. These 2 windows are on the second floor, so the creature must jump down from the roof. What can I do so the squirrel won't rip the screening and I can still keep the windows open. Any ideas?I could have a potential problem with a squirrel entering my house through a window screen?
If the squirrel has not entered the house don't worry about it. If it becomes a problem you can use rat wire...screen with 1/4'; holes from any hardware store. PS look for signs of chewing on wood trim.I could have a potential problem with a squirrel entering my house through a window screen?
The squirrel will not tear through the screen of an occupied home.
They have been known to get inside of empty and abandoned homes with no activity to scare them away.
This squirrel already has a home in the trees around your home. Stop worrying.
Sounds like you got some serious squirrel issues. I would take that up with a psychiatrist bud.adult acne

I have a squirrel problem in my house.?
ive tried repellents and traps but they all fail. so is it ok to shoot them with a pellet or bb gun in the state of texas?I have a squirrel problem in my house.?
Most states allow extermination of those little bastards. Use a pellet gun. BB's suck. But first check with Texas law regarding hunting. Some states have open season, no minimum.
Don't worry about the blood. They don't bleed much.
Get a state hunting do's and don't booklet. You'll find your answer there. Happy hunting. Shoot one for me.I have a squirrel problem in my house.?
22 caliber shorts will work better.*
The first problem you need to find a solution to is where are they getting in. Once you have found the hole or crack that they have gotten into fill the hole with steel wool and expand foam as they won't go through that mixture and its a cheap fix to the hole.
Once you've solved the entry issue now you can go to work to removing these little guys in the house. Traps work well. I'd suggest live traps if you have no interest in eating them.
Cabalas has some good live traps, I've used similar ones to trap muskrats and they work wonders.
http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templa鈥?/a>
This will take you to one of the better ones.
I'd use a combo of peanut butter oatmeal and vanilla extract as this works like a charm.
Once caught you can release them back into the wild.
Shooting them in the house could work but shooting in a building is never a good idea.
Hope this helps
Legal issues aside, I'd use a .410 shotgun and don't laugh yet. I reload and have some one-piece wads, no shot cup, made of compressed cork that I have used on rats indoors. The cork will not penetrate a partition but it will smack a small animal hard enough to kill it from hydrostatic shock.
I have also used a .30 caliber rifle with Lyman Accra-Wax, but I don't think that is on the market anymore. Wax plug and primer, no powder and it works almost as well as the .410.
As long as you don't live in town, why not? I'd use a .22, though. A bb gun isn't going to be lethal.
yeah i'd use a .22 rifle if your not in town or no other houses are really close
if you have boarded up the holes that they are coming through and they chew threw put hot sauce on the areas they chew if not break out the pellet gun
There are pellet rifles every bit the equal of .22's but your average Wally world BB gun isnt gonna do it. You do need to patch the hole though. Word of advice do it about 1 hour after or before daylight as the squirellys will be out feeding. That way you lock them out instead of in. I had some running around the attic of an old house I rented in NY and never really cared until I woke up with one sitting on my dresser looking at me. I shot a few with a 22 outside but I had the room to do it as I had 80 acres.
You'd do a lot better with traps.
A pellet gun might not kill quickly, and if they
die in a wall cavity you will regret it come summer.
Rat traps will get the litle suckers. Do be sure to
tie the trap to something so he can't drag it off.
try a havahart trap or rat traps baited with peanut butter.you can shoot them, but don't get caught.how do they get in?

What can I do to keep the fox squirrels around my house? We have two. One is grey, black and has a white nose.?
We have a lot of oak trees and I put out corn blocks and bird seed. I also put out mixed nuts in the shell. Would they eat popcorn too? What can I do to keep the fox squirrels around my house? We have two. One is grey, black and has a white nose.?

Just keep putting food out and they will stay.
We wouldn't need animal prisons (Zoos) if they would just put food out the animals would stay voluntarily, like cats outside the back entrance of a Sushi Bar.

There's a squirrel in my house? What should I give it to eat?
There was something in stuck in the little room where the boiler and stuff is at and we thought it was a bird that got stuck through the chimney but it was a squirrel!! It's been there for four days, poor little thing hasn't eaten and we were able to unscrew the pipes in order to get it and it's hiding in a little corner and it won't come out. I threw some little nuts and walnuts in there so that it could eat but it doesn't. What else do squirrels like (food) so that I could give it so that it could come out? There's a squirrel in my house? What should I give it to eat?
You should be able to go to your local wal-mart and buy some squirrel food just like you would bird food.
Check the link for pricing.
Also, be sure to leave a door or window open near it so that it can escape if it tries to, otherwise it could end up in another section of your house. Typically small animals don't carry rabbies, but still be careful if you decide to try to handle it.There's a squirrel in my house? What should I give it to eat?
Ok im going to be honest and blunt. Its in fight or flight mode hell its not going to eat. its scared YOUR going to eat it.
Its going to die in there unless you call someone to get it out. two options
1. Wait and let it die and stink up your house
2. call a pest person and have them come get it before it dies
The shelter may offer you a humane trap(cage) so you can release it.
Try calling them or game %26amp; fish.
Squirrels can carry fleas that spread the plague.
they also have ';varment'; services in the yellow pages to remove wildlife
lol that first answer is funny...but yeah um...are you sure the lil guy is still alive??? maybe he is injured and cannot move....alls I know is u wanna get that thang outta there befo he dies and rots and starts stankin up the hizzle...fo rizzle. good luck tho
Get rid of the rodent. Arsenic should do the trick.
Arsenic
try somekind of lettuce
acorns and squuerrl food
maybe hamster food.
but try and free him he might be too scared to eat

Is there a squirrel in my house?
as i came out of my room this morning i saw out of the corner of my eye something scatter in the distance of the back room, now i figured i was just still a little drunk from the night before untill i heard a knock on the glass door, and something scatter off again. i am 100% sure it came from the inside of the house. what do you think it is?Is there a squirrel in my house?
I would say a rat, that probably came in from a hole in your walls or something. But banging? I'm not sure, see if anyone around has lost a pet squirrel. He might be trying to crack a nut on your window or something. Put some food out too.Is there a squirrel in my house?
That's hecka freaky haha.
You could have rats? Not sure -- sounds kind of like a lizard, except they don't knock. Keep your doors open for a couple hours or something -- it'll leave (or die? D:) eventually.
Good luck,
Jackie
it was probably a mouse, but then again you could have still been drunk. i say you set a live trap to try and catch it.
Its probably a Gremlin. Be careful.
well if its a squirrel you better sleep with your nuts covered
do you leave food out if you do it might me mice

Could be a mouse???

take it to the vet or to a shelter or something! poor thing! it's nice that you want to help it and not just let it die like most would good for you! I wouldn't keep it though.be careful when you try to move it because it will probably be in distress and might bite you (http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t%26amp;ct=res%26amp;鈥?/a> !!!)

It is actually illegal to keep wild animals. You need to turn this squirrel over to a licensed wildlife rehabilitator. You should be able to find one here: http://www.tc.umn.edu/~devo0028/contact.鈥?/a>
Licensed wildlife rehabilitators have the specialized training to care for sick, injured and orphaned wild animals, and they have the required state and federal licenses that allow them to keep the wild animals until they are healthy enough to be released.
They are also free, although they appreciate donations, as they operate as non-profits and foot most of the bills themselves.
Tell you cousin that, even if you just wanted to care for the squirrel until it is well enough to be released, please know that this is probably illegal, as well, unless you have the proper permits to rehabilitate wildlife. ';Wildlife rehabilitation licenses or permits are required to work with most native species, since wildlife is a natural resource and considered the property of the collective people of a state. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service requires federal rehabilitation permits to work with migratory bird species, marine mammals, and species listed under the Endangered Species Act. With very few exceptions,
wildlife agencies require wildlife rehabilitation permits or licenses to rehabilitate wildlife.'; http://www.ewildagain.org/pdf/RecBooklet鈥?/a>
From the description that you posted, it sounds as if the squirrel has broken its back, which is an injury that cannot be fixed. You should call animal control and they will put the animal down. There will be no cost to you, as this is not your pet.
Call animal control, have them make the decision. Don't let it suffer either way.
If it were me and its a Saturday, I would call the non-emergency number for the police and see what they recommend since we don't have public animal control and I'm assuming the squirrel is on a public road. If you do have a public/town animal control, call them! It sounds very hurt and will probably die soon...you can just leave it, as hard as it may be to know its suffering. Don't approach it or you'll just make it scared. You can call private animal control but you may end up paying for a Saturday visit for a dying animal. If you have enough...courage?...to put it down yourself quickly then you can do so...just not by firing a gun nearby houses. I know I couldn't but my hunter friend could.adult acne
do i call animal control or animal services?
my cousin said that, in time, the squirrel will heal up and that i should take care of it until it does.

Squirrel in the house. Will it come back?
I had a squirrel get in the house (I found it when I got home). It got cornered in a closet, then tried to hide in a pair of coveralls. I was able to corner it in the coveralls (they were thick, so I couldn't get bit), threw the coveralls (with squirrel inside) in a large Rubbermaid tub, then took him out to some trees about 7-8 miles away. Do squirrels come back that far? I really hated to kill it.
I'll need to cap the old chimney, but it'll be a while before I can do it.Squirrel in the house. Will it come back?
THAT squirrel may not come back...worry about the ones he hangs out with. When squirrels finds a nice place to hang out they will come back over and over. Pest control people sometimes have to use serious wire mesh to cover up areas they come through in homes (especially attic areas) because they will chew thru wood.
If I where you I would get the chimney fire capped as soon as possible. 1. Its the law where I live due to sparks, it may be the law where you live too. Also if your insurance agent sees that it is uncapped your insurance could climb. 2. To keep out visitors like bats, birds and squirrels.

How can I get rid of the squirrels that are destroyng my house?
They squatted in my loft, and made a nest in there - they have now left but are in my garden, knawing away at a cob nut tree and just dropping the remains all over the garden. I just want rid of the pests, I used to think them cute, but my, I have changed my opinion now, they are making my life hell. Where can I get hold of squirrel poison ?How can I get rid of the squirrels that are destroyng my house?
If they are grey, they are classed as vermin and pest control will sort them out, if they are red, your nearest wildlife group will trap and release to a safe place. How can I get rid of the squirrels that are destroyng my house?
why not make them into nice stew or curry?
maybe even squirrel casserole.
Get a cat.
bb or pellet gun....they don't like them. You take out one or two; they'll get the idea

Do you feed squirrel at your house?
i sure do. i gave one a biscuit this morning. he ate part of it and buried part of it in the yard. i also gave him some corn. he ate that too.Do you feed squirrel at your house?
You mean feed squirrels. Mum does.Do you feed squirrel at your house?
NO!!!
No, but I have a couple of stray cats and a jackrabbit that I feed... there may be the odd deer too.
Yes b/c I need to put some good karma out there b/c I run so many over.
Yes we finally gave in.
No - they taste weird.
Sure do
no,but my grandparents do
Squirrels are successful rats.
Well... I feed the birds... but the miserable little rodents seem to think I've been feeding them... I've put up signs... to no avail.
I feed: squirrel, deer, raccoons, birds, cats, opossums, armadillos, and what ever else wanders up into our woods.
No. we try to discourage squirrels from coming to close to the house, and the owl has pretty much cleaned out the population of them.
Yes. used to feed them with nuts they grabbed from my paws, until one of them thought I would eat them all. now I just throw the nuts a long distance, long enough to not come in conflict with their restraining orders.
No. We would get bears coming and breaking the feeder if we put anything out. Same thing with bird seed.
